From VE Team lead, Scott, AG7T
Video-Supervised sessions are not as efficient as an in-person one because we can only do 1 examinee at a time for 4 VEs. The 4 VEs are needed due to technology issues. For example, losing network connectivity would require voiding an exam when the VE count drops below 3 or if the examinee is disconnected.
You can see what sessions we are doing by going to https://ham.study/sessions/ag7t . Read https://tinyurl.com/yxf8sbvb before you register for one of our video-supervised sessions.

For the Mike & Key VE Sessions
FCC Amateur Radio Service license examsare given the 3rd Saturday of each month at
Kent Senior Center
600 E Smith
Kent, WA 98030
Detailed driving directions can be found Here
We don’t accept walk-ins anymore, everyone must pre-register via https://ham.study/sessions/AG7T
We offer testing for new licenses and upgrades.
You will need an individual (not business) FCC Registration Number (FRN) as the FCC has stopped taking social security numbers. https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do. If you have an existing FCC license your FRN is printed on that license. You will also need an email address.
Register for the session via https://ham.study/sessions/AG7T . We do not accept walk-ins anymore, you must be registered to take exams from us. The session is open for registration usually by the first of the month. However if the session is full or we aren’t giving the session this month it won’t show up in the link above.
You need to bring with you a government issued photo id, and $15 in cash (exact change preferred) or a check. There are requirements for young people in the notes section for the session you want to register for.
As of April 19, 2022, the FCC will collect from you a $35 fee for a new, renewal, or vanity callsign application. Upgrades to an existing license does not have a fee. This is separate from the $15 exam fee collected at the session and is done directly with the FCC. They will send you an email when your application is processed that includes a link for payment. You then have 10 days to pay the fee. After you pay the fee your license will be issued after processing.
